The City of Kingston serves as the county seat of Ulster County in Hudson Valley Region 8 and has a total area of 8.6 square miles. The central government is responsible for Citibus transportation, community development, economic development, planning, public works, and police in the city. The City of Kingston is bordered by Eddyville and Port Ewen to the South, the Hudson River to the East, Lincoln Park and East Kingston to the North, and Hillside to the West.
